CEO Quotes.

  • Too often people think about intuition as the same as relying on luck or faith. At least as I see it, nothing could be further from the truth. Intuition can tell you, of the doors that are open to you, which one you should walk through. But intuition cannot prepare you for what’s on the other side of that door.” ~ Tim Cook
  • “To design a desk which may cost $1,000 is easy for a furniture designer, but to design a functional and good desk which shall cost $50 can only be done by the very best.” ~ Ingvar Kamprad, IKEA founder.
  • “I could regularly travel first class, but having money in abundance doesn’t seem like a good reason to waste it. Why should I choose first class? To be offered a glass of champagne from the air hostess? If it helped me arrive at my destination more quickly, then maybe.” ~ Ingvar Kamprad, Supply Chain Guru

Sam Walton was an amazing entrepreneur and an amazing CEO. So much to learn from him. Walmart has one of the best supply chains out there.  The person who is speaking is Don Soderquist.  If I remember correctly he was the COO when Sam Walton and David Glass were the CEOs.  I got to hear Don Soderquist speak when I worked for Walmart Logistics.  Very motivational.

Here is an assortment of retail blogs regarding Walmart, Amazon, Alibaba.

“I don’t know what would have happened to WalMart if we had laid low and never stirred up the competition. My guess is that we would have remained a strictly regional operator.” ~ Sam Walton, created the Walmart Supply Chain
“At Wal-Mart, it goes back to Sam Walton and the foundation and business model that we simply operate for less, or everyday low cost. We’re known for operating in a very efficient way and then giving those savings to customers.” ~ Mike Duke, former CEO of Walmart

Apple CEO Quotes

  • “Apple has changed every day since I have been here. But the DNA of the company, the thing that makes our heart beat, is a maniacal focus on making the best products in the world. In creating these great products we focus on enriching people’s lives – a higher cause for the product.” ~ Tim Cook, made huge improvements to the Apple Supply Chain

That’s how I see business: great things in business are never done by one person, they’re done by a team of people.” ~ Steve Jobs

  • “Don’t be afraid to fail. Get out there and experiment and learn and fail and get a rate based on the experiences you have. Go for it and when you go for it you’ll learn what you’re capable of, what the potential is, where the opportunities are, but you can’t be afraid to fail because that’s when you learn.” ~ Michael Dell
  • “If you want to sustain excellence over a long time, you’d better come up with a system that works well. Anyone can sprint for a little while, but you can’t sprint for forty years.” ~ Michael Dell
